Fox Run Storage Sheds

Site Preparations

Having a properly prepared site is crucial to the appearance and functionality of your new shed. The site should be flat and level and allow for adequate drainage of groundwater. We do not recommend placing your shed directly on the ground or up against other structures. We at Fox Run are happy to assist in your site prep—just call us for a quote. It is recommended that you check local zoning laws regarding placement of structures and purchase of permits. We are unable to give advice since all municipalities have different requirements. It is the responsibility of the property owner to handle these issues.

The site should be slightly larger than the dimensions of the shed. A gravel base is recommended as it allows for the shed to be accurately leveled. Cinder blocks or shims will settle over time and are not recommended. Gravel also prevents water from puddling which can eventually cause damage to any wood structure. Rain gutters are an available option that will help keep your shed safe from water damage.

Your shed site will need to be accessed by the delivery truck. Please inform us of any uneven paths, steep hills, or tight spots in the path that lead to your site from the road. This allows us to make the necessary arrangements for your delivery. Remember, low branches and wires can prevent a large truck from getting to your site, causing delays and unnecessary costs for your delivery. Notifying us of possible complications in advance allows us to provide the best and quickest delivery of your shed. If your site access is limited or particularly difficult to access, we can provide alternate arrangements to have the shed built on site for an additional fee.
